Esports: The difference in China and America

USA-EATW.png

Mission

As someone who plays video games a good amount of the time, Esports just kinda came to me. I love playing and watching video games, so why not turn a passion into a project? But, I had to think, about how could I connect it to the world, and the idea hit me, another country that focuses on Esports is China. So that’s where my research began, looking up different Esports stats, how it affects the countries, and what are some of the differences/similarities between the two countries. All things that would help better educate me and eventually the listeners of my final product.

Global Studies Theme

One of the 9 Global Studies themes is Technology & Communication. These play a large role in my final product, Esports are technology, and they both play a similar role in the development and success of the industry. Communication, Esports allows people from places all around the world and play the games they enjoy together to further understand each other.

Final Product

For my final, I decided to create a podcast.   Even though I had never created a podcast before. I started by listening to podcasts to see how to model one. After, I began researching different aspects of my topic, then molded it into a script, and eventually recorded it on GarageBand.
