About Me

"Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it."

Hi! I'm Quincy and welcome to my About Me page! I'm a 17-year-old kid who loves to see what life may stick in front of him. Growing up I lived in different states which sparked my interest in adventure and exploring new places, which has also flared one of my favorite questions, "What's life without risk". Outside of school, there are a lot of things that I am passionate about: my family, food, sports, and how to be the best me I can be.

What makes me different from everyone else? For starters, I’m not too fond of cheese. The texture is weird, the smell is terrible, and overall the concept of cheese is just bad! Other than my dislike of cheese, I’m just different from everyone else, unique if you will. For instance, I learn better on rainy days, I can’t write uppercase M’s in one motion, and I am superstitious about everything. All things that some would qualify as “weird” I would say make me different from the rest. I feel that's what drew me to global studies because in this area you want to be different from everyone else because if not then the discussions would be irrelevant. There’d be no argument, everyone would have the same opinions, and in this program, you need that out-of-the-box thinking. It was also my itch for learning that helped my interest in Global Studies. After hearing about Global Studies throughout middle school and the early stages of high school I had a feeling that I’d want to be a part of it. All the amazing experiences and people that you can meet throughout this process are incredible. But it also helps you find out who you are not only as a learner but global citizen and forces you to ask yourself what it means to be a global citizen.
